FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you ship products safely in hot weather?

A: During summer months, we insulate packages, include ice packs, and use Priority Mail to get your order to you quickly and safely. While we can’t control heat exposure during transit, these steps help reduce the chance of melting. If your product softens, pop it in the fridge—it’s still safe and effective. Q: What makes Threefold Grace skincare different?

A: Our products are handcrafted in small batches with 100% grass-fed, grass-finished suet tallow, nutrient-rich oils, and pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils—many of which are certified organic. We create everything with intentional care—rooted in faith, clean ingredients, and transparency.

Q: What is tallow, and why do you use it in skincare?

A: Tallow is rendered fat from grass-fed animals that closely mimic the structure of human skin oils. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, non-comedogenic, deeply nourishing, and ideal for dry, sensitive, or irritated skin.

Q: Are your products safe for babies and children?

A: Yes! Our Baby Grace line is specially formulated with gentle, natural ingredients. We always recommend doing a patch test first and supervising use. If your child has sensitivities, consult your pediatrician.

Q: Do you use preservatives or synthetic ingredients?

A: We avoid parabens, phthalates, and synthetic preservatives. The majority of our products are scented only with pure essential oils. In some cases—like our Sweet and Safe Collection—we use a phthalate-free fragrance oil that meets clean beauty standards and is free from harmful additives. We only choose ingredients that are safe, effective, and intentionally selected to align with our values.

Q: Can I use your products while pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: Many of our ingredients are considered pregnancy-safe, but essential oils can affect everyone differently. Please consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Q: Do your products have SPF?

A: Our Protective Lip Balm and Lamb Tallow Balm include uncoated non-nano zinc oxide, which can help form a physical barrier, but it is not FDA-approved or tested as an SPF product. Our products are not tested or labeled as sunscreen, and no SPF value is assigned. We have intentions to include uncoated non-nano zinc oxide in coming products as well. For sun protection, we recommend using an SPF-rated sunscreen alongside any of our products.

Q: Is my product ruined if it softens or melts?

A: We recommend putting it in the refrigerator if it melts. It will firm back up and then should be usable again. If it was a whipped product, the consistency may be different. The product is still safe to be used unless it was in extreme heat for an extended period of time.

Q: How should I store my products?

A: Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. (The refrigerator is the very best place for products to stay to extend the shelf life but it is not required.) Because we don’t use synthetic stabilizers, very hot environments may cause some products to soften or melt.

Q: How long is the shelf life of the products?

A: For best results, use within 9–12 months. Body scrubs are best used within 6 months. These products differ from those loaded with preservatives common in supermarkets today. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Avoid introducing water into the jar. If scent, texture, or color changes significantly, discontinue use.

Q: Where on my body can I use body exfoliant scrub and body butter?

A: We recommend using it on the body only, as the essential oil dilution is higher than what’s ideal for facial skin. For face care, try our Rejuvenate Moisturizer—and stay tuned for a face scrub coming soon!

Q: What other scents and products do you plan to create?

A: Our plan is to follow your lead. We want to serve you and make the products that you love. Follow us on social media and email us your suggestions! Our goal is that you find non-toxic skincare that you love!

Q: Are there a lot of adverse reactions to using tallow?

A: Rarely—and while we feel that all of our tallow products are extremely safe, everyone’s skin is different and may have varying sensitivities. We always encourage a patch test.

Q: What is a patch test, and how do I do one?

A: A patch test is a simple way to check if your skin may react to a new product— Apply a small amount of the product to a discrete area of skin—like the inside of your wrist or just behind your ear. Wait 24 hours. Watch for signs of irritation such as redness, itching, burning, or rash. If no reaction occurs, the product is likely safe to use as directed. If irritation appears, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider if needed.  Always patch test when trying new products—especially baby or face items.
